"The Grand Master is a poetic interpretation of Ip Man's life. Every frame of the movie is beautifully done. It's a love story more than a martial arts movie. Ziyi Zhang was incredible in the movie. The song Stabat Mater brought the emotional level up to its zenith." - Chippie

The Grandmaster (2013)

"Grandmaster movie made me feel that the actors were at the peak of their game. The director/producer / actors have done an exceptional job. I don't know how they will be able to excel from this. If they can maintain such artistry, Asian cinema will continue to bring unique concepts to the world of cinema. Because that's what we need. Good stories, well encorporated effects, without overdoing things, and multi layered complexity. Beautiful." - winston miller

Wing Chun grandmaster, Ip Man (Tony Leung) reflects on the nature of martial arts as he battles different martial artists during a rainstorm. Ip Man wins and he experienced different flashbacks: from his early training to his induction into Wing Chun by his master and his marriage to Cheung Wing-sing.

"This movie is a painting. The atmosphere is just leaking out of it. I believe that it pushed the atmosphere throughput limit a two dimensional movie can offer." - Akumetsu02
