The film is about a group of Chinese university students from The University of Hong Kong. They plan to assassinate a high-ranking special agent and recruiter working for the puppet government. The film is generally believed to be based on the historical event of Chinese spy Zheng Pingru's failed attempt to assassinate the Japanese collaborator Ding Mocun.
"I finally watched this today and it was beautiful, sad and fascinating. Tony Leung was so incredible: He barely spoke but you could feel how powerful and intense he was. Really good cast. I felt for both him and the girl. 💔❤️🩹" - Redd Alchemy
