The final season sums up the series' two primary conflicts: the Great War against the Army of the Dead, and the Last War for control of the Iron Throne. In the first half of the season, many of the main characters converged at Winterfell to face the Dead. Bran lured the Night King into the open during the battle and Arya destroys him. The second half of the season resumed the war for the throne as Daenerys suffered losses until she finally attacked King's Landing upon Drogon, her last dragon. She defeated Cersei's forces and vowed to "free" the whole world as she had liberated the capital of Westeros. An anagonized Jon killed her and Drogon flew away with Daenerys's body after destroying the Iron Throne with dragonfire.
