It is about the story of Tang San who overcomes many trials and tribulations in order to protect his loved ones and become the strongest and bravest soul master. When Tang San was young, he and his father depended on each other to survive after Tang San's mother died. Tang San grew up to be meticulous and mature for his age because of his circumstances. He was awakened to his powers when he was six years old and was sent for training. He became a disciple of Yu Xiaogang and looks after the orphaned Xiao Wu as her older brother. In order to expose them and train them further, Yu Xiaogang sends them to the Shrek Academy where they meet other talented soul master and they form the Shrek Seven Devils. As the Shrek Seven Devils gain fame, conflicts arise between them and students from other academies. They unintentionally become embroiled in the tussle for imperial power between first prince Xue Qinhe and fourth prince Xue Beng. Meanwhile, Tang San discovers the culprits that caused his mother's death and their conspiracies to destroy the nations.
