Confession of Pain(Chinese: 傷城) (2006)

Police inspectors Lau Ching-hei(Tony Leung) and Yau Kin-bong arrested a rapist in 2003. When Yau returns home later, he saw that his pregnant girlfriend had slit her wrist and committed suicide. Yau was so depressed with her death that he indulged in alcohol and turned in his police badge to work as a private investigator. Later, Yau discovered that Lau had a dark past. Lau's family was murdered by a billionaire when Lau was a child and Lau grew up in an orphanage before being a police officer. He intends to seek revenge by pretending to fall in love with the billionaire's daughter, Susan. In his quest for vengeance, he destroyed the new family he had formed with Susan. Overwhelmed with guilt, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.
